NTF is a federation whose highest body is the Congress, which meets every five years. The Congress decides, among other things, on activity plan, statutes, membership fee and appoints the Executive Board.<\/p>\n
Between the Congress meetings, the work is led by the Executive Board, which consists of thirteen people.<\/p>\n
The seven sections are an important part of the federation’s activities. The sections are responsible for the activities related to their own industry. In connection with each congress, each section selects its steering committee.<\/p>\n
NTF is divided into seven main sections and an additional women’s committee:<\/p>\n
The day-to-day work is carried out by the secretariat, based in Stockholm.<\/p>\n

Organises members working in the civil aviation sector such as loaders, check-in staff, cabin crew and pilots.<\/p>\n
The section aims to monitor developments in aviation and the challenges arising from the Low Cost Carrier Model (LCC). Works, among other things, with issues such as social dumping, night and shift work, security issues and digitalisation. Always in close cooperation with ETF and ITF.<\/p>\n

The section works with issues such as the implementation of the EU Mobility Package, digitalisation and technology, exploitation of labour in the Nordic labour market and the freight industry of the future. The section also includes an environmental group.<\/p>\n

The focus areas of the section are public procurement, digitalisation and technology, climate and environmental impact, the EU mobility package, diversity and threats and violence such as preventing all kinds of negative discrimination based on gender, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, faith and cultural background. The section also includes an appointed working group for taxis.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The section’s assignments over the next few years are the campaign against flags of convenience ships (FOC) and flags of convenience ports (POC), the ITF’s lashing campaign and compliance with the Athens policy in the Baltic Sea region.<\/p>\n

Priority areas of work are digitalisation and automation in the warehouse and logistics sector and the entry of online giants into the Nordic market. The section also works with issues related to education and exchange of experience, collective agreements and the possibility to increase the involvement of more trade unions in the Nordic region.<\/p>\n

One of the items on the NTF list of assignments is to hold a women’s conference every year to discuss issues related to women, the labour market and international cooperation. The reason for this is that the Nordic trade unions have a long tradition of working for equality and for equal influence in the organisations and society in general.<\/p>\n
The NTF Women’s Conference coordinates the prioritisation and nomination of the Nordic candidates for the European and global women’s Committees.<\/p>\n
